From Sunday the 12th till Tuesday the 14th a Man Bijt Hond television crew followed Vincent van der Spek and me on a birding trip to Schiermonnikoog.
The trip started on the Beach of Egmond aan Zee where Vincent rediscovered the first Thayer’s Gull (Thayer’s meeuw) for the Netherlands while they were doing a close-up. The whole consternation that followed including shouting of directions and the celebrating will be a very funny piece of television…
What happened on Schiermonnikoog? I guess you have to see for yourself! The 5-part mini-series airs in the first or second week of May, but I’ll keep you posted non that!
Here are some of the pictures that Vincent took over the course of the weekend:
Spoonbills with the lighthouse in the background
1 of 2 Black Brents
Red-crested Pochard male
Us and the crew, with a whisky to celebrate the final cut
A magnificent white male Ruff, on the way back in the Bantpolder
